The main reason why Amur Leopards are dying out is because of us! In the past, people liked to poach these rare cats for their beautiful fur, for clothing, and bones which are used in traditional Chinese medicine. We have destroyed a lot of their habitat by building roads through their forests. We have also diminished their prey, causing them to starve and die out. A number of human-created fires often rage through their area and poaching still remains a threat in Russia.
