Behavior

The behavior of the Amur leopard is similar to the characteristics of a large cat. It likes to stalk its prey and, and unlike lions, like to eat alone instead of sharing with other leopards. Male leopards weight varies from 32-48kg, while females are a bit lighter, only 20-43kg. Amur leopards are good climbers and can climb down trees head-first. They are confined, solitary, and mark their territory with urine like most predators. Amur leopards have the ability to swim and are nocturnal, meaning they are more active at night. Amur leopards can run at 37 miles per hour for short periods and can jump 20 feet horizontally and 10 feet vertically. As a predator, Amur leopards have large incisors which help it bite and secure it's prey.
